Eleven projects spanning service design, graphic design, and web design — across government, consultancy, commercial, and community work. All on one page.
Magazine Creation
While at ThinkPlace, I was tasked with designing a publication to commemorate the firm's 15th anniversary, titled 15 Years of Impact.
The project involved extensive content collation and coordination with both past and present staff to gather stories, milestones, and supporting material. Once the content was assembled, I designed the 30-plus-page publication in line with ThinkPlace's brand guidelines.
My role included shaping the layout, narrative flow, and visual hierarchy of the magazine, bringing together a large volume of information into a cohesive and engaging final piece.
Research & Design Project
In partnership with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, this project explored the barriers people face when accessing a bank account in New Zealand.
The work involved a combination of desk research, customer and staff interviews, and survey insights to build a clearer understanding of the challenges experienced across the banking journey.
I contributed to the research, synthesis, and communication of findings, helping translate complex information into a structured and accessible final document. The output included a research findings report with recommendations, supported by public-facing graphics and user journey maps designed to make the insights clear and engaging.
Marketing Support
In an ongoing role, I maintain in-store promotional materials for Spa World across Australia and New Zealand.
This work involves producing and updating retail posters for changing campaigns, themed promotions, and national shows, often within tight turnaround times. It requires careful handling of product and pricing information, strong attention to detail, and the ability to adapt designs quickly while maintaining clarity and consistency.
The role has strengthened my ability to work responsively within a fast-paced commercial environment, balancing production accuracy with clear and effective visual communication.
Website Design
Stillpoint is an emerging health and wellness company focused on the design and production of meditation pods.
With the brand identity already developed, my role was to translate the existing visual language into a cohesive digital experience. This involved applying the brand across a website format in a way that felt clear, considered, and aligned with the product's positioning.
As the client continues to refine the product offering, the project remains in development. My contribution has focused on shaping a website experience that communicates the brand consistently while supporting its ongoing evolution.
Logo Design
I was approached by a ceramicist seeking a logo for use across her products, with the additional requirement that it could be adapted into a stamp.
She shared a selection of visual references, including a Japanese character she wanted incorporated alongside her initials, JZ. As beetles are a recurring motif in her work, I developed several logo concepts that integrated both her initials and this distinctive design element.
After presenting a set of low-fidelity mockups, I refined the selected direction and converted it into a vector file, ready to be sent to the stamp manufacturer.
Service Design — Solution for Students Waiting for a Doctor's Appointment
This class gave us frequent opportunities to practise the full service design process from beginning to end. Through this, I was able to strengthen skills in desk research, interviewing, asking thoughtful questions, and creating customer journey maps.
The class also provided a strong foundation in service design principles and the tools needed to explore issues thoroughly and develop high-quality solutions.
Website Design
Hana Midwifery is an independent midwifery practice in Wellington, New Zealand, run by two Lead Maternity Carers, Ana and Harriet. They needed a website that felt as warm and personal as the care they provide, while making it easy for expecting parents to understand their approach and get in touch.
I designed and built the full site: a homepage introducing the practice and both midwives, an about page setting out their whāanau-centred philosophy, and an articles section organising their pregnancy and postnatal guidance by stage, with filterable tags and a distinct accent colour for each category.
The enquiry form was the other key piece: parents can share a due date and indicate a preference between the two midwives, and the form submits directly by email with no custom backend required, keeping the site simple to host and maintain.
Brand Identity
Pipeline Swim is a sustainability-minded swim school, established in 2021, wanting a brand identity that felt playful and ocean-led while carrying a clear conservation message.
I designed a mark built around a humpback whale, paired with a turtle variant, and extended the system across a poster set, a tote bag, a sticker sheet, and supporting digital touchpoints — keeping the palette to a simple sea-blue and green so the brand stayed recognisable at any size, from a website favicon to a printed poster.
Event Poster Design
Community halls and charities need posters that do a lot with a little: a clear date and price, a strong theme, and something eye-catching enough to stop a scroll or a passer-by. I've designed a run of these one-off event posters for different local clients.
For Hakaru Hall's country and western nights, I illustrated a recurring cast of line-dancing characters across two posters — a general Hootenanny and an ANZAC-themed follow-up — keeping the bold, playful typography consistent between them so the series reads as one event.
For KiwiHarvest's Goodness Gala, a charity fundraiser dinner, the brief was to put the chef ambassadors front and centre against a bold, high-contrast design that would work equally well as a social post and a printed flyer. For the Nelson Host Lions Charity Golf Tournament, the design needed to read clearly at a glance with all the logistical detail — sponsorship tiers, tee-off time, and contact details — laid out simply.
Marketing Campaign
Alongside the 15 Years of Impact magazine, I designed the marketing collateral for ThinkPlace's 2024 Masterclasses launch — a series of practical design and innovation courses offered to clients and the public.
This covered the course brochure, laid out in ThinkPlace's brand system with a clear structure for duration, cost, and topics covered, an "About ThinkPlace" spread introducing the company to a new audience, and the LinkedIn post used to announce the series and drive registrations.
Information Design
This project turned background research on New Zealand's agriculture sector and farmed animal consumption into a set of infographics designed to make dense statistics easy to read at a glance.
Starting from background research on livestock numbers and meat consumption trends, I designed a "roadmap" infographic setting out a co-design process for agriculture and the environment, alongside supporting data visualisations breaking down livestock populations and meat consumption patterns in New Zealand.
